Leagues: Details

  • Registration postponed until further notice due to coronavirus.
  • Season 1 Registration Opening Date for other memberships is on the chart below
  • Season 2 start day is yet to be determined.
  • If you miss your chance to register for this season please talk to our staff and get your name on the waiting list for next season or as a substitute for the current season
  • What is a substitute? - We may still be able to add new teams after the season starts if its not too late. We may also be able to add players to a team if someone has to quit their team.
  • To join a league, you must be at least a Basic Member or higher. Click here for membership details
  • Available spots in leagues are limited
  • Joining priority goes to the members who have the highest Membership type
  • Depending on your membership type there may be additional fees
  • You can be a member of multiple leagues but make sure you are prepared to commit the time and energy into playing all of your matches
  • It will not be fun for your teammates if you do not show up for matches
  • Check the leagues schedule to make sure you can be available for your matches
Please see this chart for League Play fees and Registration Opening Dates:

Note: All prices above include tax

Leagues: Schedule

  • This is the time slot schedule for each league
  • League matches will usually be allotted one hour
  • These time slots do not mean you are required to be present for the entire time slot
  • You just need to be present for your scheduled match time
  • We recommend staying for the entire time slot however so you can see other teams play and enjoy a fun atmosphere of hanging out with fellow gamers

Leagues: Rules and Guidelines

Registration Rules

  • The League Registration age limit is 13 years of age
  • Registration priority works by Registration Opening Date, and then by first come first serve
  • For example, if registration opens for gold members, but there are only 5 spots available and 20 gold members want to register, the first five people to register will get the available spots. The rest will have to wait till next season to try registering again or can put their names on the waiting list or substitute list
  • We will try our best to make spots available for each league
  • League sizes are limited due to the number of systems
  • Players do not need to have a full team to join a team based league but having a team is highly recommended
  • If a player registers for a league without a team, that player will be grouped together with other players randomly to create a team roster
  • If you only have a partial team, people who signed up alone will be assigned to your group to fill out a roster
  • You won't get to choose the players who fill in empty spots on your team
  • If for some reason we are unable to make a full roster some players may not be able to compete this season
  • If you wish to register an entire team, it may be possible to do so without the presence of the entire team at sign up
  • Just make sure all team members pay their league fees before their first match

Matches and Scheduling

  • All matches must be played at Goon Gaming Esports in accordance with Goon Gaming Esports rules and guidelines
  • Players cannot play league matches online or at a different location
  • Any players found doing so will be disqualified from the league
  • All players and teams must do their best to adhere to the match schedule
  • If a previous match ends early, and the next two teams are ready to play, they can start their match earlier than their scheduled start time if they both agree to doing so
  • We recommend players to show up early for their matches if possible
  • If a match runs longer than the time slot given, the next match will begin as soon as the previous match ends
  • If the machines are not available because a previous match is going late, we hope you will be understanding and patient
  • It may also be possible to play your match on our regular gaming PC's if both teams are willing and don't wish to wait for the previous match
  • Matches for PC games will typically be played on the PREMIUM GAMING PC's in the center of the room unless there are technical difficulties or scheduling issues
  • Matches for league play and tournaments will be displayed on the big screens if possible
  • Players from the winning team of a match are responsible for reporting their win at the front counter
  • There will be small paper forms at the front desk that you fill out and place in a box
  • The forms will be checked by staff and the league information will be recorded and updated
  • Any falsely reported wins will result in disqualification
  • If one team wishes to reschedule a match for another day and time (as long as it does not interfere with other Goon Gaming Esports events), it may be possible but only if the other team is willing as well
  • The team that wins a match will receive 2 points
  • The losing team will receive 0 points
  • If a match goes unplayed, both teams will receive 0 points
  • If your team is unable to fully attend a match but the other team fully attends, your team can play short of a full roster if the game will allow it
  • If the game does not allow a short roster, the team with the full roster automatically wins
  • Any sort of tie matches will result in each team getting 1 point, but most games don't allow for this
  • Games must be played according to standard tournament rules used in pro gaming level play
  • If a team member is unable to show for a match, substitutes are not allowed
  • AI (computer controlled) players cannot be used as substitutes for a match
  • Each game will have their own rule sets for matches
  • Please see the rules for the game you are playing

Sportsmanship

  • Cheats and exploits are strictly forbidden! Obviously!
  • Anyone caught cheating will most likely be banned permanently from Goon Gaming Esports
  • Do not accuse someone of cheating unless you have proof, such as a match recording
  • Any game mechanic or strategy is considered within the rules, whether or not you think it is unfair or a "dirty" tactic so do not confuse that with cheating.
  • We encourage people to play honorably and fairly in order to promote good sportsmanship, but to also accept the outcome of a match regardless of what tactics or methods the other team used
  • After a match is over, it is recommended that you shake hands with the opposing team and say something appropriate such as "good game" to foster good feelings all around.
  • Toxic angry behavior and especially violence will not be tolerated, and any such behavior may get you and your entire team disqualified from the league and from joining future leagues

Organization

  • Teams will be in one division together, but in the future, we may be able to have multiple divisions and more teams
  • A typical season will last 3 months and matches will be played once or twice a week
  • The top 4 to 8 teams from each league will get to play in the league finals at the end of the season
  • The number of teams chosen will depend on the total number of teams in the league
  • Championship tournaments will typically take place on a Saturday or Sunday or may require two days to finish, depending on the game being played
  • Please allocate your time as needed for tournaments
  • It would not be good to let your team down by not coming to the event
  • The winning team will be rewarded
  • After each championship, registration for the next season will open, and teams can register again based on their membership types as usual
  • Priority will be given again, to the higher level memberships and then to those who sign up first
